The juvenile arrest rate for Property Crime Index offenses rose 4% between 2006 and 2007, the first increase since the 1993-1994 period.

- The FBI assesses trends in the volume of property crimes by monitoring four offenses that are consistently reported by law enforcement agencies nationwide and are pervasive in all geographical areas of the country.
- In 2007, for every 100,000 youth in the U.S. ages 10 to 17, there were 1,270 arrests of juveniles for Property Crime Index offenses.
- The relatively stable juvenile arrest rate trend between 1980 and the mid-1990s for Property Crime Index offenses stands in stark contrast to the Violent Crime Index arrest rate trend.
- Despite the recent increase, the 2007 juvenile Property Crime Index arrest rate was 51% below the 1991 peak.
