- In 2007, the runaway arrest rate was 328 per 100,000 youth ages 10 to 17 - 35% below the 1980 rate.
- In 1994 and 1995 the arrest rates for running away were unusually high - 50% higher on average than the rates for other years between 1980 and 1993.
- More than half (56%) of juvenile arrests for running away in 2007 involved a female, and 32% involved youth under age 15.
