- Between the mid-1990s and 2007, the female arrest rate for driving under the influence increased proportionally more than the male arrest rate.
- The male juvenile arrest rate for driving under the influence in 2007 was 59% below its 1980 level while the female rate was 14% above its 1980 level.
- The disproportionate increase in the female rate since the mide-1990s narrowed the gender disparity in driving under the influence arrest rates. In 1980, the male rate was eight times the female rate; in 2007, the male rate was just three times the
female rate.
