From time to time, our Data Analysis Tools are improved to give users more capabilities. We have enhanced the Easy Access to the FBI's Supplementary Homicide Reports tool to support state-level analyses of homicide victim and offender data. Users familiar with this site will notice a state pull down menu on the Victim Crosstabs and Known Offender Crosstabs selection pages. This enhancement replaces the National and State Profiles section included in previous versions of this application.
The data available in this application varies by State and year. For example, some states did not report any data to the Supplementary Homicide Reporting Program in some years. Additionally, the reported data from some states is substantially below (i.e., less than 50%) the FBI's estimate for a particular year. This application does not display estimates for states that did not report or were determined to underreport for a specific year. Check the Data Coverage table to see what years are available for your state.
