- Between 1984 and 1994, the number of known white juvenile murder offenders doubled and the number of known black offenders quadrupled.
- In 2002, the numbers of known juvenile murder offenders were near their lowest levels in a generation for black and white youth.
- However, while the number of known white juvenile murder offenders remained stable between 2002 and 2006, the number of black juvenile murder offenders increased by 58%, returning to its highest level since 1997.
