America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being 2007, Tenth Anniversary Edition (NCJ 219130) July 2007 Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics Presents detailed information on the welfare of children and families. Each year since 1997, the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics has published this report, which addresses such topics as family and social environment, economic circumstances, health care, physical environment and safety, behavior, education, and health. In addition to providing data in an easy-to-use, non-technical format, the purpose of the report is to stimulate discussions among policymakers and the public, exchanges between data providers and policy communities, and improvements in Federal data on children and families. The report noted that in 2006, there were 73.7 million children from ages 0–17 in the United States, representing 25 percent of the population.
