Presents findings from the 2002 Juvenile Residential Facility Census. This Bulletin is based on reports from 2,964 public and private facilities, which held 102,388 juvenile offenders on the census date (October 23, 2002). It includes statistics on facilities and offenders by state and facility type; and national data on facility confinement features, overcrowding, suicide and mental health screening, and deaths in custody.
